Isn’t Christianity supposed to set me free?
from all the “sins” the churches claim?… such as porn addiction, being hard on myself, etc. I just feel the very opposite way. I feel like i’m under tons of obligations that I have to deal with for the rest of my life. Well there are tons of benefits I have received from God since I tuned to a Christian 3 years ago, but I still miss the freedom that I used to enjoy. What can I do other than praying to get the feeling back?
It´s Jesus who sets you free, not religion. The churches have so many different doctrines about what the rules should be, that it can seem like bondage, and sometimes it is!. God´s only law is love, to love Him, others and yourself. You have to find a fellowship that you can feel is like your family, who loves you, and can help you with these “temptations” you are battleing with from your past. God does make it easier for us to give up things that are bad for us, but some churches think that everything is bad for us, and it can get discouraging and frustrating. Like I said, God´s law is love, so if it is the loving thing to do, do it. If it is harming someone else or yourself, don´t do it. That makes living a Christian life alot easier, don´t you think?
