Time Piano

How long did it take to learn left and right hand at the same time with piano?
You see, I am a rising piano player, and I am trying to learn the basic of sheets with simple chords and things of that nature.
My only problem is trying to play my left hand and right hand at the same time, or within one another without one freezing or stopping completely.
So question is, how do/did some of you get over this problem (if you had it)
Or can you list some easy songs to practice getting in the groove of two hands?

Yes it is very awkward starting out for a beginning piano student. That is why C.L. Hanon developed a set of exercises specifically to deal with this problem. I would suggest buying this book of exercises. It’s called Hanon “The Virtuoso Pianist” in sixty exercises (complete set of exercises in one book). Look it up on Amazon.com and read the reviews, read about what problem areas the exercises help to solve. I bought the book and it has helped me tremendously! The good thing about the book is that for instance, the first 20 exercises are meant to prepare you for the next set of exercises. They start off easy and then gradually (without you really realizing it) get harder. I’d wish you luck — but luck has nothing to do with it. When practicing the piano remember, work smart not hard! It’s all just working toward the goal until you eventually reach it!
And also I would add…..there are tons of free sheet music out there and some of it even comes with midi files so you can hear the songs being played exactly as it is on the sheetmusic. To save the midi files, right click on the link and “save as” on your desktop or anywhere on you pc. Here is my list of favorites and I strongly suggest you check them out!
