Praise and Worship leader professional jealousy
professional competence is a curse within the Christian church, and is an extension of the poison satisfaction we talked about earlier. professional rivalry occurs when a praise and worship leader, musician or singer becomes jealous of another musician or singer because of their ability or perceived success, both of which is larger than all the resources of the person or success. If we call it what it is, rivalry experts are just jealous, and has no place in Christian ministry.
As a musician and singer, I'll admit it's hard to see another increase of ministry success and adulation they need, especially if it is at my expense! It is tempting to look to and say, "How successful is that I've never won, Lord? Why remove them as a substitute for me? "The extension is flat," I can play better than them, I sing better than them, my songs are extra powerful than theirs, how they bought success and not me? made "Or possibly say:" I tried really expensive to learn this effective tool, how they find it easier to play and not me? "Or," Lord, why his voice is much nicer than mine? "
Years in the past ended up going to Christian festivals as a result of professional rivalry absolutely disgusted me. I saw all the musicians and Christian singers with finely painted masks subtleties wishing each other well on the ground, while secretly hoping that fall and getting shot down in a heap screams! This holiday season, some Christian musicians refused to allow others to use your amplifier or take even just to try to make it harder for the next person to come. By this means many of them tried to lift his teammates pushing down. I found this view so abhorrent that I finished going to festivals and dedicated to pursue what I felt the Lord and ask me to do in my own church, and in places where the Lord opens the opportunity for me to play.
I say once again, the experts rivalry has no place in Christian ministry, especially in worship. In case you are proud, envious and jealous of a fellow staff member, then this destroys the unity among the staff, and the Lord can not give the blessing on the ministry in the identical manner (Psalm 133).
The antidote to hatred Professional
The antidote to this destructive poison is easy: keep humble, keep encouraging others and raise the opposite person. In fact, if you are good stay close to the other with the intention to learn from it and bounce off him when you are in the ministry.
As praise and worship leader, it is common for musicians and singers over the car, however, that does not mean you are not the worship leader. Moderately to make an attempt to cut your singer or musician mates down, why not promote his ministry and his ability as part of the worship of his personal therefore, the individual versus blessing and the blessing addition, his congregation with his ability.
Once you lead worship at my church home, I can be sure you do not become the lead singer of each song. If, for example, we are five songs, most often only truly take one or at most two of these songs. Instead, encourage others in my worship team to take the lead in numerous songs, which not only provides a selection the listener, but also encourages the potential gift of different singers.
If they are better than me at singing, which will delight and encourage your success to it, because I know that as a leader when someone in the team wins, you win the entire workforce. This promotes a spirit of unity within the workforce, and encourages those who are much less experience to go by faith and take a look at things, thinking that their success can be rejoiced by different team members. It is also brings a sense of humility, servant hood, and often more wonderful action of the Holy Spirit in worship.
Despite all, this is not what we really want: to see the Holy Spirit transfer life of people in worship?
professional rivalry has no place in the worship team and worship, and must be treated quickly and successfully to not destroy the unit you are trying to achieve. As a leader, if you happen to preserve a spirit humble and gentle and pleasure in the promotion of others ahead of yourself, then I guess that goes to see his ministry also asked to reach their full potential.
