It’s true that if you’re great at classical guitar you will be better on electric?
I heard that if you know classical guitar, the electric guitar and the other genres of music will be easier to play. And I’ve seen, Malmsteen also plays classical music, as well as Randy Rhoads. So, if you know classical guitar, you could easily switch to the electric and play it better with no problem?
It will help in chording. I have classical background and play mostly electric. You can use the pick and the middle and ring finger for chording and playing leads. You can lay double notes or whatever. Where classical training helps is in finger stretching and develops finger and wrist muscle. As far as technique, it will not make you a better guitarist but it adds an element to your playing.
