So, I got an electric guitar for Christmas….?
Now what? lol I am basically a novice at playing the guitar. I had about 3 months worth of lessons a couple years back. I pick up my acoustic every few months and mess around. I know my chords, and can play through songs using the chords. That’s about it. My husband bought me this shiny pretty thing and I’m not sure what to do with it! lol I got out my Nirvana songbook….ready to channel my inner Kurt….any suggestions for me?
LOL! Sounds like you have discovered what many others before you have figured out… Learning to play guitar is *NOT* easy! In fact it’s probably the most difficult instrument to learn music on, but it is quite gratifying once you get it.
The trick to learning how to play is to take it slowly, methodically and according to a well laid out lesson plan and you have to pick up the instrument every day, even if it’s for only 15 minutes.
Many (if not most) private guitar tutors may be good musicians but are not very good instructors.

It truly is the best home study program out there, it teaches you how to read and play music.
While most of my past 2 years of studying guitar has been quite enlightening, something odd occurred recently, by knowing how to read a songsheet. I was able to play a song on a piano just by looking at the sheet music. I attribute this to the foundations that the L&M Guitar course laid down.
Oh I almost forgot to mention… Check out the user community, it is one of the best features of the course. The others students are always there to help you figure things out….
